  1. You’ll brand your practice, and yourself by submitting articles to your local media outlets. You should include your name, business name, your credentials, address, phone number and e-mail address in your resource box.
  2. You will become known as an expert on the topics you write about. This will give you and your business extra credibility which will help you compete against your competition.
  3. Your article might also be placed on the publisher’s main page, announced in their news program or they may call you and do an interview based on the article you submitted. If they publish or interview, this will give you some extra exposure.
  4. You might get extra exposure if the publisher or program director submits your article to a wire service. This will give you regional or national credibility.
  5. You will get the equivalent of free advertising. This will allow you to spend your profits on other forms of advertising. You could begin a direct mail or postcarding program, or start a coaching and speaking program.
  6. You might get extra income from people wanting to hire you to speak at seminars. This is a great way to multiply your income.
  7. You could provide publishers with copies of your articles or writings in the form of a special business report for their advertisers. Since they are giving them away, you receive an implicit endorsement of your services.
  8. You will get your article published or broadcast all over the region when you submit it directly to a wire service such as AP or Reuters. They’ll distribute it to all media in your area.
  9. You’ll gain people’s trust. If they read or hear your article and like it, they won’t be as hesitant to buy your services. You will then be able to increase your fees and profits.
